Carter Wosk BC Creative Achievement Awards for Applied Art and Design Announced

BCID is pleased to congratulate the winners of the 2010 Carter Wosk BC Creative Achievement Award.

The award winners were announced by Premier Gordon Campbell and Committee Chair Keith Mitchell, Chair of the BC Achievement  Foundation.

“These talented British Columbians apply technology, artistry and skill to their work and demonstrate the range and vitality of British Columbia’s applied arts community,” said Premier Campbell. “They contribute to the cultural and economic diversity of our province and their innovation and ingenuity serve as an inspiration to all British Columbians.”

Recipients for 2010 are:

Cathi Jefferson of Duncan – pottery
Natalie Purschwitz of Vancouver – clothing and accessories
Toby Barratt, Pamela Goddard and Nik Rust of Propellor Design of Vancouver – furniture and lighting

Doug Simpson of Feathercraft Folding Kayaks has been named as the recipient of the 2010 BC Creative Achievement Award of Distinction.
Each recipient will be recognized at a presentation and exhibition event on September 27th at Shaw TV Studios. Recipients will receive $2,500 and be granted the use of the British Columbia Creative Award seal to signify their creative excellence.
