Off the Hook – Open Call

Off The Hook is the fourth annual design project undertaken by IDSwest following REST, Epidemic Pine Beetle Designs and Doghouse Vancouver.
This is an open call to all designers.
IDSwest will provide defunct telephone booths to the seven selected participants to produce their individual concept. Selected designers will design and produce their
projects for display at the IDSwest event September 17 to 20, 2009 at the Vancouver Convention Centre. Projects will also be showcased on the IDSwest website and a complete PR campaign will be developed to promote Off The Hook. All projects must be complete working prototypes, no drawings or models will be accepted as
entries. Each project will remain the property of the individual designers, and will be displayed at Interior Design Show West 2009 (September 17 – 20).
*Please note that due to proprietary information, some parts of the booths and phones have been removed and will not be made available to designers.
We will do our best to supply as many components as possible.
Selection Process & Applications
Participants will be selected by a jury of design professionals, with various industry experiences, and will base their decisions on a number of factors including; past works, use of materials, professionalism, originality and consumer appeal. Interested parties are asked to please submit their contact information and electronic portfolio, website or resume to info@idswest.com with “Off The Hook” in the subject line.
Deadline for open call is July 1st 2009.
Participants will be selected and informed of selection by July 15th, 2009.
Projects must be completed no later than September 10th, 2009.
