StarFish Medical (www.starfishmedical.com) is seeking a talented, full-time Senior Industrial Designer with strong, team-based, product design consultancy experience.Background Experience- 4+ years of experience in a multi-disciplinary, product design consultancy environment. This is a mid-level/ senior position working under a design manager.
Specific Skills
Qualifications:
- BA, BS or MS in Industrial DesignThe applicant portfolio and resume should convey:
- Good written abilities, excellent project planning, management and communication skills
- Evidence of developing products from concept through to production
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
- A good engineering understanding
- Evidence of team-based design
- A great design eye and sense of proportion
- Excellent sketching ability (idea generation; problem-solving; form and identity development)
- Photoshop and Illustrator skills (good rendering, layout and presentation skills)
- Solid 3D CAD and Visualization ability (SolidWorks ability is essential; Rhino would be a plus)
- Good understanding of plastics and metals manufacturing processes (extrusions, injection-moulding, casting, CNC machining etc)
- Software UI Design experience (including Flash prototyping) would be beneficial
